Industry
For the industry, Frumarco already has developed many sorts of fruit syrup. However, often a tailor-made production is possible (minimal 800 kg). Below you can find the uses that have already been put to the test.
Fruit bars: For fruit bars, fruit syrups are very suitable as a natural adhesive and binding agent, to keep the bar together and at the same time give it, beside sweetness, a fresh fruity note.
Treacle waffles: Frumarco can provide fruit syrup for treacle waffles. In treacle waffles, fruit syrups give a short, not viscous structure and a prolonged fresh storage life.
Muesli/cruesli: For muesli, fruit syrups provide a natural alternative for granulated sugar-caramel. In cruesli, besides giving it the sweet taste, fruit syrup helps the coagulating of the cruesli to become the wished-for crunchy nuggets. Moreover, the fruit syrup contributes to the fruit perception of the muesli/cruesli.
Pastry/Bread: In pastry with a fruit filling, the fruit percentage rapidly becomes much higher than with ordinary jam or preserves. Moreover, fruit syrup is sweet due to the fruit’s own natural sugars and no granulated sugar needs to be added. It has been proven that Frumarco’s fruit syrup provides a prolonged fresh storage life in bread and other pastries. Special types with a high potassium level can retain liquids longer and provide, together with the fruit sugars, a higher resistance to mould.
Sauces: This is the most traditional use of fruit syrup. Consider for instance sauces for stew, sweet hash, chutney, red wine sauce, game sauces etc. But also when put in a marinade, fruit syrup can give a delicious, subtle sweet taste.
